Algarrobo is a town of 10,000 people (2012), and a popular summer destination on the central coast of Chile. Summer holidays draw in large crowds from nearby Santiago. The San Alfonso del Mar resort north of the city is home to the world's largest outdoor pool.

- City center: Avenida Carlos Alessandri, between Playa Las Cadenas to the north and Club de Yates to the south, is home to the greatest commercial, cultural and gastronomic activity in the summer months. Some attractions are, from south to north: the modern fishing cove; the El Muelle restaurant; the popular restaurant El Hoyo; commercial, residential buildings and banks; the Hotel Pacífico, and the House of Culture.

From south to north:
- El Canelo Beach in the south of Algarrobo, a traditional beach in this resort. Thousands of people go in the afternoon. The water is cold.
- El Canelillo: Next to El Canelo, but smaller and quieter. Nice to go on vacation. The water is cold.
- Deportivo Nacional: In front of the community of the same name. * Los Tubos: It is the beach that follows after Deportivo Nacional.
- San Pedro: It is the beach where the fishermen's cove is located.
- Yacht Club: Various water sports are practiced here, such as surfing, sailing, etc. from the Algarrobo Yacht Club , better known as "Yachting".
- El Pejerrey: Also known as "Los Camellos" beach because of the small mounds formed on its shore.
Las Cadenas : Beach located in the heart of the resort, therefore many people tend to go.
- International: Located near San Alfonso del Mar , there are always events on this beach such as concerts and others. The best for young people.
- Algarrobo Norte: Where you can best appreciate the sunset.
- Las Dichas: It is a small town that is part of the Casa Blanca commune, limits with Algarrobo, its main road leads to Route 68 to go to Valparaíso, Quilpué.
- Mirasol : Sector of the northern part of the Algarrobo commune, with the road to Yeco and also the well-known "middle road" which leads to the rural part of Algarrobo known as San Jose.
- El Yeco: It owes its name to the existence among the rocks of the place, of a sea crow commonly known as Pato Yeco , also called Neotropical Cormorant. El Yeco is made up of a group of numerous houses, many used exclusively for summer holidays. It also has a basic school and a Rural Health Post. It has two beaches that can be reached by going down stairs and enjoying its viewpoint from which you can see the horizon and in one place the two beaches. With warm yellow sands, perfect for sunbathing and being close to nature. It has a comfortable pool to enjoy the water; and the sea is excellent for surfing.

- San Alfonso del Mar. This privately owned resort north of the village is famously home to the second largest pool in the world, with a length of over 1 km and an estimated content of some 250 million liters of Pacific Ocean water.
