Bangui (pronounced bang-GEE) is a municipality of 15,000 in the far northern end of the province of Ilocos Norte in the Philippines. It is primarily known for its wind turbines that face the coast.
Bangui is about 550 km from Manila and 65 km from Laoag, along the Maharlika Highway (Rte 1/AH26). It is served by buses running Manila-Pagudpud and Laoag-Tuguegarao.
Hand-crafted wooden miniature windmills are widely sold around the vicinity of the wind farm and on the public market.
