Bol is a town of 12,0000 people in Sahelian Chad on the coast of Lake Chad, close to the borders with Nigeria, Niger and Cameroon.
Trade with northern Nigeria is the backbone of the local economy. The main economic sectors are: fishing which represents the most important sector, trade in livestock (much of which is exported to Nigeria), and maize and millet production.
