Bra is a town of 30,000 people (2021) in Piedmont. It is a culinary destination, home to the Slow Food movement and the University of Gastronomic Sciences, so you are guaranteed to eat and drink well. Every other year, in September the town also hosts Cheese, a large international cheese festival.
For many, the easiest way to get in is by train from Asti. If you are already in Turin, you can take a direct train to Bra.
If you're in Turin and choose to drive, take the A6 south.
As it is a rather small town, you can explore Bra by foot.
While not in Bra, some of Italy's best wine producers are nearby. It is a good starting point to explore the Langhe region known worldwide for its red wines.
The specialities include the similarly named sausage, salsiccia di Bra, and cheese, formaggio di Bra.
