Cetara is a charming and quaint fishermen's village on the Amalfi Coast. It's one of Italy's main centres for tuna fishing and known as food lovers' hotspot.
Cetara is said to have been established by a group of armed Muslims as early as the year 880. Today, the town has some 2400 inhabitants, but the number is declining.
There is a small Tourist office, Corso Garibaldi 15. It has brochures and can help with accommodation bookings
Located some 9 km south west of Salerno and about 50 km south of Naples, Cetara is a rather straightforward drive from there via the Strada Statale SS 163 and A3 Naples – Reggio Calabria (known as the Autostrada del Sole).
There's no particular monument that requires your attention. To enjoy this place, just stroll through its picturesque harbor area and have an espresso in the pleasant old town.
