Chhapra is a city in Bihar in India.
Previously it was known as the headquarter of a district called Saran. It is 70 km northwest of Patna. First President of India after independence, Dr.Rajendra Prasad, came from Chhapra. The main language of the place is Bhojpuri and the main festival that is celebrated is Chhath Parv after six days of Deepawali.
Chhapra is well connected with many other parts of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The nearest airport is the Patna Airport. The Chhapra Railway Station is on the Siwan Hajipur line. National Highway 85 has its route through Chhapra. National Highway 101 and National Highway 102 originate from Chhapra.
