Colyton is a small town in East Devon in the West Country of England.
Colyton’s circular street arrangement is typically Saxon. Take a stroll along the winding lanes and you will see a wealth of historical buildings. It is known as England's most rebellious town due to its action in the Monmouth Rebellion. Much of the parish is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or an Area of Great Landscape Value. The River Coly has its source above Farway being joined by the Umborne Brook at Colyton from where it flows to join the Axe at Colyford at the south end of the parish.
The nearest train station is Axminster, which is on the route from Waterloo to Exeter. From Axminster station you can catch bus service 885 to Colyton
