Concordia is an excellent example of a flourishing city in Entre Rios, located at 440 kilometres from Buenos Aires. It lies on the western shore of the Uruguay River, on the border with Uruguay.
Concordia has a population of over 172,000 inhabitants. It is also the second most populated city in Entre Ríos. The population in this region was made up of immigrants: Italian, Spanish, German and Jewish.
There are buses from Buenos Aires.
The smaller city of Salto, Uruguay, right across the river, is accessible by a bridge over Salto Grande Dam, north of the city.
In this bicentennial city, there is the San Carlos Palace. This place inspired Saint-Exupéry to write part of his famous book The Little Prince.
There are diverse cultural sites to visit such as the Jewish Museum, the Arruabarrena House and the Ethnological and Anthropological Museum.
Other tourist attractions are its hot springs and its rivers and lakes, where people can go fishing. At Salto Grande Dam there are plenty of dorado fish.
