Dschang is a sizable community located in the West Region of Cameroon (but for purposes here on Wikivoyage allocated to the Northwest Highlands). The somewhat odd spelling goes back to the German colonizers of the 19th century.
Dschang has struggled not to be in the shadow of Bafoussam over the years, as the latter is where the national government chose to direct most revenue and attention for the seat of the West Region. However, Dschang has a pleasant climate and setting due to its altitude at 4520ft. Moreover, it is the home of the University of Dschang and has tourist appeal, including with its museum on Cameroonian civilization.
Lots of eateries around. Le Delireum Fast Food, Cafe Baba, Jardin des Princes are three located downtown. If next to the museum, there is the Restaurant Fosso.

Malte Hotel, Quartier Administratif, Dschang, Cameroon, 5.45149°, 10.06252°. On a hill with a view not far from the museum, this seems to be the highest rated lodging in town. People comment on the sunset watching. It supposedly also has a restaurant, gym, and wifi, although the latter and hot water may not always be constant. ~$45 2020-07-28
Mbouoh Star Palace, Dschang, Cameroon, 5.44399°, 10.05508°, +237690086180. This is a popular multi-story hotel on the main drag through town with a restaurant and pool. People said it was comfortable in reviews, although wifi also was an issue at times. Right beside the Marche (market). ~$45 2020-07-28
Teclaire Palace Hotel, 5.44225°, 10.05790°, +491733237222, teclairepalacehotel@yahoo.fr. Good hotel located in the city center. It has a generator (ok) and a water tank, practical knowing that the city is often the object of cuts. Might be a bit more basic than the other two and kind of grubby street location. ~ € 19.05 2020-07-28
There are others, too, like Hotel La Voie Lactee.
