Ertholmene is a group of small islands north-east of Bornholm.
There are ferries from Gudhjem, Allinge-Sandvig, and Simrishamn.
There is a natural harbour between Frederiksø and Christiansø, where you can anchor your yacht.
There are no cars on the islands, so you have to walk. Bicycles are not allowed.
Difficult terrain for disabled people.
There are only about 100 inhabitants living on Ertholmene, but thousands of visitors come every summer. The islands are: Christiansø, Frederiksø, and Græsholm.
Walk around, enjoy the scenary and solitude. Several points on the island have unhindered 360 degrees view over the sea. Visit the barracks and hundreds of years old military installations and imagine how it would feel being garrisoned there over the long, cold winters.
Not much of a selection to be honest. There are a few arts and crafts vendors/producers over the summer months but nothing really you cannot find on Bornholm next door.
Christiansø is famous for its marinated herrings. Small convenience shop with limited selection and a small restaurant. If you're on a daytrip from Bornholm, it might be worth considering bringing sandwiches or similar pret-a-porter foods.
Ertholmene has 6 hotelrooms and a camping area. Reservation for both is recommended. Off designated area tenting is not allowed. Or you can sleep in your own yacht.
Camping, +45 2442 1222. Nearby the school. 24 pitches, basic kitchen facilities. Sanitary facilities 300 m away at the guard.
