- Krikelo đ â Built at 1120m altitude, Krikelo is famous for its chestnut woods and has some guest houses.
- Megalo Chorio đ â Traditional settlement on the slope of Mt Kaliakouda (2098 m), with plenty of streams and waterfalls in its outskirts.
- Proussos đ â A village famous for its monastery set in a stunning location.

KTEL Intercity Buses connect Karpenisi with Athens (twice a day in 5 hours), Agrinio (3 ½ hours) and Lamia (2 hours).
