Girei is a city and municipality in Adamawa State. It is located along the Benue River. The dominant tribes in this area are the Fulani. However, a significant number of Bwatiers also live in villages such as Glen, Ntabo and Labond in the Gilley province. The main occupations of the people in this area are agriculture and livestock. Gilley is also home to Radio Gortel.
