Haverhill is near the borders of Cambridgeshire and Essex. Haverhill's history goes back before Roman times. Later Haverhill was a centre for the woollen industry.
Haverhill is in between Cambridge and Halstead on the A143 and A1307, the A1017 bypasses the town. Haverhill no longer has a railway station, the nearest are in Great Chesterfield and Sudbury.
