Hawes - town in North Yorkshire, England

Hawes is a town in North Yorkshire in the Yorkshire Dales in Wensleydale on the River Ure. It is on the Pennine Way footpath and has two waterfalls. Wensleydale Creamery makes Wensleydale Cheese made famous by Wallace of Wallace and Gromit a British claymation comedy.

By bus

Bus connection with Garsdale Head on the Settle to Carlisle railway. Bus from Leyburn. Dales and district bus 156/157 from Bedale via Leyburn.

By foot

Hawes is on the Pennine Way between Horton-in-Ribblesdale and Keld.

Car based Dales explorers have grand if steep and narrow, roads to Swaledale and Wharfedale.
