Inland Fujian is an area of Fujian Province in China; in Chinese it is sometimes referred to as mǐnxī (闽西), West Fujian. The province's main cities are along the coast; the inland region is mainly mountains and agricultural areas.
The region's three prefectures each have an anchoring city with population in the 2.5 to 3 million range.

Getting around within this area is generally done by bus.
A fast train line from Putian in coastal Fujian to Nanning in Jiangxi province (Fujian's neighbour on the inland side) is now in service; it passes through this region and is faster than buses.
The area is well-connected to other parts of Fujian (Southern Coast (Fujian) or Northern Coast (Fujian)), in particular to the major cities Xiamen and Fuzhou. From some areas, it is also possible to head further inland (West) into Jiangxi province, South into Guangdong or North to Zhejiang.
