Jikwoyi is a rural area in the municipal area council mostly inhabited by the Gbagyi.
Jikwoyi was inhabited by the Gbagyi before the federal government made Abuja the official capital territory of the nation in the year 1991. The first settler was said to be a local hunter who came to hunt in Paikokun land, a thick forest in Abuja. With time, their population grew and they spread to different areas in the FCT, part of which is Jikwoyi. The Gbagyis still have local allocated area in the FCT which they have full right to in the district.
