Kapampangan is the main language spoken in the province of Pampanga and in southern Tarlac, Philippines. It is spoken by around 2 million.
To the unfamilar, Kapampangan appears to be a divergent dialect of Tagalog, which is natively spoken in the rest of Central Luzon, but the two are distantly related and mutually unintelligible. Kapampangan is much closer to the indigenous Sambal languages of Zambales than to Tagalog.
