Kavalkinaru is a beautiful village in the state of Tamil Nadu. Here, all religious people live together as one family. The village is a 45 Min drive from Thirunelveli and a 30 min drive from Nagercoil, and has a well connected road network and rail network. Kavalkinaru is a symbol of unity. More than 10,000 people live here. In the centre of the village we have a church (Sacred Heart Church). Moreover, Kavalkinaru has two big ponds. One monsoon both of these were filled and the water is used for agriculture. Kavalkinaru has a rock in the outer of the village called as Pothai. A certain percentage of the people spend their life by working in this rock.
Since Kavalkinaru has more schools and colleges this village is well educated. Every one in the village is educated. Once upon a time this village was the boundary of the kingdoms of the Cheras, Cholas and Pandiyas. So, it had an inn and well for the guarding soldiers, which became the cause of the name of Kavalkinaru.
