- Nurak Reservoir đ â the largest reservoir in Tajikistan
- Takhti-Sangin đ â the probable source of the Oxus treasure now on display at the Victoria and Albert Museum and British Museum.
- Ajina-Teppa (8 km southeast from the city of Kurgan-Tiube) â the site of a 7th-century Buddhist monastery that was excavated during the Soviet period. A 13-m-long statue of a reclining Buddha, now exhibited at the National Museum of Antiquities in Dushanbe was discovered at Ajina-Teppa. Unfortunately there bus or Marshrutka goes there. Taxi drivers also don't know it. If you nevertheless found it there is nothing to see, no museum, no information plates, nothing. You can run around the ruins but that is all.
- Tigrovaya Balka đ â a nature reserve at the board of Afghanistan included in the list of World Heritage tentative list.
