Kunduz (Pashto: کندز; Persian: قندوز) also known as Kundûz, Qonduz, Qondûz, Konduz, Kondûz, Kondoz, or Qhunduz is a major city in the North of Afghanistan.
Most visitors will arrive by the rebuilt road from Pol-e Khomri. It is also possible to get to Kunduz from Mazar-e Sharif and Taloqan.
The city is fairly small. The local roads, like others in Afghanistan are poor. Local taxis are available.
There's not much for tourists here.
The usual Afghan fare - kebab or lamb with rice are here. Some river fish may also be on the menu. Pastries, influenced by the proximity to Kyrgyzstan are available.
