Ladrilleros and Juanchaco are two fishermen settlements located at the mouth of the bay of Malaga, some 40 km north of Buenaventura in the Valle del Cauca department of Colombia.
Fast boats depart from the Muelle Turistico in Buenaventura (1 hr). Return fare is COP$90,000 and the return is valid for 15 days. A reliable company is Transporte Asturias.

The town is safe. There s an airforce landing strip right between Juanchaco and Ladrilleros as well as a navy base in the bay of Malaga.
In the event of bad weather, the boats will not run and you'll be stuck in town for an extra day. Be careful if you have to catch a plane or are low on cash.
