Llanidloes sits just off the A470 main road about 40 miles from the English border. From Birmingham and the Midlands, take the M54 through Telford, A458 and A483 through Shrewsbury, Welshpool and Newtown. From the south, the A470 offers a spectacular cross-country route from Cardiff.
Llanidloes is a thriving town with a number of interesting independent shops, mostly located on Great Oak Street and Long and Short Bridge Streets. The success of the town as a shopping destination is partly down to the presence of Hafren Furnishers, a large independent furniture retailer which draws customers from all over Mid Wales and further afield.
