Madha is an exclave of Oman that is completely surrounded by the Fujairah emirate of the United Arab Emirates.
Madha has 2,500 inhabitants. Its borders were only agreed on in 1969 between the UAE and Oman. Though it is 75 km2 in size, people live only in the area called New Madha.
Madha is almost directly on the coastal road between the Musandam Peninsula and Muscat. Madha has an airport but no scheduled flights from Oman Air.
There are no border controls between Madha and UAE, but bring your passport just in case, and make sure your car insurance covers Oman.
Madha is so small that walking is the obvious choice. Otherwise the main road will allow you to drive through the village in about five minutes.
Consider bringing a picnic lunch (and plenty of water) with you from Fujairah.
Fujairah is the next city that offers accommodation options for travellers.
Omantel runs a mobile network and UAE providers should work as well.
