Monroeville is a city in the Gulf Coast region of Alabama.
Monroeville bears the moniker of "The Literary Capital of Alabama" because, rather incongruously, it was the childhood home of both Harper Lee of To Kill a Mockingbird fame and Truman Capote. In fact, they were even childhood friends.
This town is a bit off the beaten track. You can access it via highways 84 or 21 from Interstate 65.
