Montville is a town in New Jersey. It is largely a bedroom community for people who work in New York, but it has a nice small-town feel to it. In 2007, Montville was ranked by Money magazine as the 13th best place to live in the United States and the best in New Jersey.
Montville is centrally located at of Interstate 80, Interstate 287, and U.S. Highway 46.
New Jersey Transit buses regularly visit the town.
The Towaco Train Station (Montclair-Boonton Line) 📍 is good for commuting into New York City.
Montville is large enough that a car is the most practical way of getting around, especially since there is no downtown commercial area in the true sense.
Montville is along George Washington's route during the Revolutionary War.
The only real shopping center is located on Changebridge Road. There is a dry cleaner, a candy store, and a hair dresser.
Montville has no bars.
There is not much outside Montville other then New York City, but some nearby non NYC attractions include:
Liberty Island and Ellis Island, a ferry leaves from Jersey City
There is decent shopping extremely close by in Boonton, where there is a Wal-Mart, A & P, and other major chains, as well as a large main street with mom-and-pop businesses.
The nearest mall is the Willowbrook Mall along U.S. Highway 46, about 15 minutes away from most points. There is a large food court and many stores. Other mall options include the Short Hills Mall and the many malls of Paramus.
