Nananu-i-ra is a small island about 1.5km off of the north coast of Viti Levu, in Fiji.
The island is home to a couple of resorts and backpacker cottage accommodation options (bure) as well as private homes and villas. Most of the appeal of this island is due to its small secluded and relatively uninhabited nature, and as such there are not really any restaurants or businesses.
Travellers typically arrive there by chartering a local motorboat from the mainland; the nearest town is Rakiraki.
Around the island the visibility is very good especially from August to January. Arguably the best period of the year to dive in Nanunu is from December to April–May, when the visibility is still pretty, but the water is also warmer (28-29 C°).
There are 2 dive shops on the island.
