New Guinea is the second largest non-continental island in the world (with the world's largest being Greenland), situated to the north of Australia. It has a north-south border that divides the island into east and west divisions. The island is also home to the only land border in Oceania, as well as the highest mountain in Oceania too, making up one of the eight Seven summits.
