New Quai (Welsh: Cei Newydd) is a seaside resort town in Ceredigion, popular for its fine beaches and harbour. It's also a good place to spot bottlenose dolphins.
Only some 1200 people permanently live in this town on Cardian Bay, but in season this number increases significantly as the holiday parks around town fill up.
The A487 passes a few miles from New Quay. For the small last part to town, follow the A486. There are regular bus connections to Aberystwyth, Aberaeron and Cardigan.
Although the tourism industry has found its way here, New Quay maintains its feel as a fishermen's village. Indeed, sea fishing and fish processing remain large sources of employment and income.
For visitors, the main sights are the beautiful little harbour and of course the beach. Bottlenose dolphins live in the bay and can regularly be spotted from the beach.
There are many holiday resort complexes and camp or caravan grounds on the outskirts of town.
