Nyack is in Rockland County, New York. This article also covers the nearby towns of Upper Nyack and South Nyack, immediately to the north and south of Nyack, respectively.
Nyack is a small city along the Hudson River. There is beautiful hiking there, so it is a good day trip from New York City, northern New Jersey or Westchester County if you have a car.
It's easiest to get in by car. From Westchester County, take the Tappan Zee Bridge, or from New York City, you can choose to instead take the George Washington Bridge and the Palisades Parkway.
There are also buses from Port Authority in Midtown Manhattan, but it's a long haul.
Much of downtown Nyack is walkable, but if you want to go longer distances, a car or bike may be needed.
