Ocean Shores is a beach town with a population of 4,800 people. It was established in 1969 and was originally a land holding owned by Wendell West of Washington with backing from American singer Pat Boone, and the town itself is named after Boone's residence in Ocean Shores, Washington.
Ocean Shores is located directly off the Pacific Motorway about 1 hour south of the Queensland border and half an hour north of Byron Bay.
