Okhotsk (Russian: Ох'отск, o-HO-tsk) is a village in the Russian Far East centered around silver mining and fishing. The village has a population of approximately 4,500 people. It was the first settlement in the Russian Far East.
There are no road leading to Okhotsk.
Fishing and hunting tours are organized in the summer in Khabarovsk and cost about $2000 for two weeks.
Marekanit is a natural glass stone that is usually black with white spots and is created as a result of fast cooling magma. The only place on earth it can be found is in Okhotsk mines.
