Palm City is the largest town in Martin County, part of the Treasure Coast in Florida.
Palm City is the largest town in Martin County, with a population of 23,000 people (2010). This town is home to an equestrian center in an area known as Martin Downs, which is accessible from the Florida Turnpike. PC borders the city of Stuart and is accessible from downtown via State Road 714, which extends to Interstate 95. This town is so well put together that you'd forget it was a small town.
Palm City is accessible by car through Interstate 95, Florida's Turnpike (toll-road), and SR 714.
The Treasure Coast is still debating on passenger service by Amtrak, including locations of stations and the where the route will run. As of June 2015, the closest Amtrak station is in West Palm Beach, serving two routes as well as being the northernmost city served the Miami commuter rail service, Tri-Rail. If the Treasure Coast does get new Amtrak stations, the locations to be served are: Stuart, Fort Pierce (maybe Port St. Lucie), Vero Beach, Melbourne, Cocoa Beach and other Florida east coast cities.
The closest commercial hubs are in West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and Orlando. Miami and Orlando serve major international airports, including London Heathrow and some airports in South America.
Your best bet to get around Palm City is by car. There is little traffic in the area, and the streets are not one way in Martin Downs, unlike central business districts in other larger cities. Visitors to and from Stuart can take State Road 714 or 36th Street/Indian Street/Martin Hwy.
The closest bus service is in Stuart; there are two routes, one around Stuart and one as a commuter bus serving Jensen Beach, with a transfer at the Treasure Coast Mall to another bus service serving St. Lucie County.
