See
- Tupopdan. is the striking mountain north of the town with many peaks, also known as 'Passu Cones' or 'Passu Cathedral'.
- Views of the Hunza river. Passu is situated at a large meander in the river offering great views.
Do
- Hiking is the main activity to do in Passu
- Borit lake and viewpoint, 36.42999°, 74.86265°. Access is from the town of Husseini, where a road traverses up the hillside. There is a campground and restaurant by the lake and you can swim in it during summer. If you continue on the road passed the lake you eventually get to the start of a trail that leads up the side of the Passu glacier offering perhaps the best views of the area
- Suspension bridge, 36.44756°, 74.90052°. A footbridge constructed from cables and wooden planks that crosses the wide Hunza river. There is a path that leaves the Karakoram highway at the first hairpin as you head south from Passu. A circular walk can be created by crossing the Husseini suspension bridge further downstream.
- Yunz valley, 36.4726694°, 74.8620972°. The valley is located between the Passu and Batura glaciers, and behind Zard Sar (the peak immediately above Passu). The trail is marked by cairns and stays to the right of the lake below the Passu glacier.
- Plenty more hikes which can be led by local guides.
Eat
- Most guesthouses have a restaurant attached.
- Glacier Breeze, 36.46058°, 74.89209°, +923555694995. 8AM-10PM. is a lovely restaurant with great views set slightly up the hillside from the highway. Serving Hunza inspired food, the apricot cake is a must try. There is space for parking and the owner will allow you to camp there too.
