Pitres (dead link: December 2020) is a small town in the province of Granada, in the La Tahá municipality, in Andalucia (or Andalusia), Spain. The other main towns in the area are Mecina Fondales and Ferreirola, but Pitres is La Tahá's economic and governmental center. The area forms a part of La Alpujarra Nearby towns of similar character: Portugos and Busquistar
Besides renting a car and buying a map, taxi or bus:
Public transport: Three buses a day to and from Granada, via towns inbetween. Good, cheap service run by ALSA. Comfortable buses.
In Pitres can be found a well stocked supermarket, health food shop, butchers, bakers, hardware store, bank (with cash machine accepting most cards), chemist and a 24 hour health centre. On Fridays there is a lively market that attracts people from the local area. Best buys here are fruit and vegetables.
