Point Pleasant is a small borough in the New Jersey Shore region. This close-to-the-coast community is often confused with its coastal neighbor, Point Pleasant Beach.

- From Northern New Jersey NJ - Travel South along the Garden State Parkway until Exit 98. Follow Rt. 34 South until it becomes Rt. 35 South and follow it over the bridge. Make a right at Arnold Avenue (3rd light).
By plane

- New Jersey Museum of Boating, 1800 Bay Ave (at Meadow Avenue), +1 732-606-7605. 10AM-4PM daily. Johnson Boat Works Building 13, museum and nautical library, educational programs. Various maritime artifacts illustrate the history of boating in New Jersey.
Do
- Beach - there is a minimal fee to enjoy the beach. Life guards are working on the beaches from 9AM-5PM everyday. The entrance to the beach can be found directly across from the Dunes Motel on Ocean Avenue.
- Surfing - During the off hours, surfers gather at "The Pocket" area at the inlet. The only area to find surfers during open hours would be at the public access. Nearby Manasquan offers surfers a chance to find waves.
- Swimming - Private pay beaches offer individual lifeguard towers which are spread out throughout the beach. Surfers or visitors can find surf conditions marked by flags flying. Swimming at the public beach area is "at your own risk".
- Point Pleasant Boardwalk - The most popular place to be on the weekends is at the boardwalk. All along the southern stretch of the boardwalk you can find arcades, wheels of chance, games of skill, food, rides and gift shops. At the north end you can visit Jenkinson's Aquarium and stop at the fun house right near the middle. You can also relax and have a few drinks at Martell's Tiki Bar and Jenkinson's Nightclub here.
- Scuba diving at the Railroad Bridge and the Manasquan Inlet.
- Marinas- The premiere fishing grounds are easily accessible right from town. Some choices are: Ken's Landing, Brielle Marine Basin, Canyon River Club Marina, Clark's Landing Marina, Forsberg's Boat Works, Garden State Marina, Hoffman's Marina, Johnson Brothers Boat Works, Southside Marina.
- Gyms and spas- A few local gyms and spas are: Beach Pilates & Massage, East Meets West Spa, Gold's Gym, Health Matters Foods & Vitamin, Hoffman, Chiropractic & Wellness, Meridian Life Center, Pampered Soul, Point Fitness & Health, Inc., Sea Coast Chiropractor.

Weekly events in June, July, and August:
- Sundays: Worship on the Beach, sponsored by Central United Methodist Church. This takes place at 7:30AM at beachfront between Forman & Ocean Avenue.
- Mondays: Children's Beach Shows. This takes place at 7PM at South Beach.
- Tuesdays: Wristband Day. This takes place noon-6PM at the Amusement Park.
- Wednesdays: Festival of the Atlantic Orchestra of St. Peter by the Sea. Conductor: Father Alphonse Stephenson. This takes place at 7:30PM at Inlet Beach.
- Thursdays: Fireworks in July and August after dark (starts June 26) at the Boardwalk.
- Fridays: Wristband Night. This takes place 5-11PM at the Amusement Park.
Annual scheduled events
- Easter Egg Hunt: at the Boardwalk starting at 1PM.
- Easter Parade: at the Boardwalk starting at 1PM.
- Mother's Day at the Jenkinson's Aquarium: May 10th.
- Jazz and Blues Fest: in June at the Municipal Parking Lot noon-9PM.
- Annual Festival of the Sea mid-September, from 10AM to 7PM. This is one event in Point Pleasant that shouldn't be missed as it has been celebrated annually since 1975. This seafood festival is held downtown on Arnold and Bay Avenues. Local restaurants and vendors provide a variety of seafood such as crab cakes, shrimp skewers, paella, soups and bisques, lobster. There are also many other food options. There are also many craft vendors featuring handmade items.
