Port-Gentil is on Gabon's Coastal Plain.
Port-Gentil is Gabon's workhorse with offshore oil rigs and port activities humming around the city. Interestingly, Port-Gentil has no roadway connections with the rest of Gabon, and sits on a peninsula (island actually, if you consider that it is cut off from the mainland by the delta of the Ogooue River).
The connection with the rest of the world is maintained through * Port-Gentil Airport, -0.7195°, 8.7531°. 2020-08-20 with transit to Libreville, and marine links, including a ferry service to Lambarene across the Ogooue River.
Taxis are available.
Because of the oil and gas operations, lodging is kind of expensive here.
