On the B76, Preetz has a good road connection to Kiel, also you get on Nettelsee directly on the A21.
There are bike paths in all directions.
Preetz is home to 5 different churches. Its attractions are the town church and the monastery church founded in 1211 and is still largely preserved and worth a visit. Preetz has a Slavic ring wall and a tower hill castle, from which one sees (almost) nothing anymore. In Preetz there are a few Schuster monuments and a history museum, which is housed in the building of the old circus museum.
There is a shopping centre just near the railway station.
