Providencia is a small town on the border of the Central Valley and South Costa Rica.
The village is settled into two valleys and tourists are not really common here even in high season.
At Ojo de Agua (Km 75) you have got to leave the Panamerican Highway coming from San José direction South Costa Rica. From the highway, it is 14 km dirt road. 4WD recommended. It is also a walkable (4 hr).
A car or motorbike is a nice thing to have but with a good will most of the destination are in walking distance.
There is a bar/restaurant which offers dinner and lunch.
There are two cabins (₡5,000 per person) and they've got a space for camping (₡500 per person).
