Quillacollo is a city of the Cochabamba Department in the Sub-Andean region of Bolivia.
Quillacollo is 13 km west of the city of Cochabamba. Linking the two cities is Blanco Galindo Avenue, a wide 3-lane highway heavily transited by public transportation. At one time, they were two separate cities, but now the areas surrounding the entire highway are so urbanized that they appear to constitute one large urban center.
Visitors will most likely arrive from the city of Cochabamba, which is 13 km away. Many "trufis" and buses leave from Cochabamba and take 20 minutes. You can catch trufis from the corner of Heroinas and Ayacucho.
The Fiesta of Urkupiña is a religious festival held on August 14-16 with each day dedicated to a different activity, such as the "entrada" or folkloric parade, fiesta, and trip to the Calvario.
