Rangat is in North and Middle Andaman, a thoroughly uninteresting dustbowl from which the ferry leaves for Havelock. The only beach nearby was unfortunately washed away by the tsunami and all that remains is stones. Apart from that the only thing to keep you here is the transport connections.
There is a bus service (210 km) from Port Blair via Baratang.
A ferry runs Rangat to Long Island to Havelock to Neil to Port Blair daily except Saturday. The jetty is quite a way from town, take a autorickshaw (₹50)
Autorickshaws are available.
Panchavati water fall and beach Amkunj beach Betapur beach Cutbert Bay Beach (20 km.) away from Rangat bazaar/jetty) is a turtle nesting ground (December to February).
Government owned Guest house Hawksbill Nest is near to the Cutbert bay beach and Turtle sanctuary
Nothing local to purchase.
There are a couple of bars near the UK Nest guesthouse.
