Shamrock is a town in the Texas Panhandle.
Get in
Shamrock is on Interstate 40 about 20 miles east of McLean and 85 miles east of Amarillo. Route 83 also connects it with Wellington and Childress to the south, and Wheeler and Canadian to the north.

- U-Drop Inn and Tower Station, 12th St. at Main, +1 806 256-2501. A 1936 art deco café and filling station which served Route 66. Closed in the 1990s, it was restored to its former glory in 2004 as a local visitor center; fountain drinks, coffee and floats returned in 2014 after many years with no food or beverage service. Photographed by many, this iconic building appears as "Ramone's" in Radiator Springs in 2006 Pixar film Cars.

- Black Kettle National Grassland, north on highway 83 about 55 miles (Take highway 60 from Canadian and look for the turnoff about 10 miles out). Part of Cibola National Forest. While most of this park is in Oklahoma, this separate 576-acre park includes Lake Marvin, providing a beautiful relaxation spot for any Panhandle traveller who misses seeing lots of trees.
