Possibly the finest restaurant on the west side of Rochester, Bad Apples' name in no way reflects its cuisine. The menu changes seasonally, and focuses on fresh local products. $10-25

- Mangia Mangia, 500 S Union St (in the plaza on the NE corner of Union and Route 31.), +1 585 352-7782. Tu-Su 7AM-9PM. A small restaurant with a huge menu—quite literally, as the two-sided menu sheets are over two feet tall and over one foot wide, almost too big to hold! The portions are similarly huge, as you might expect from the name. The food is focused on Italian, but they also serve breakfast (specializing in frittatas and omelettes), seafood (including a fish fry every day), and a wide selection of panini and sandwiches. $10-$20 2018-10-20
