Sunabeda is a town in Koraput district, India. It is the known as the Kashmir of Odisha, one of the coldest region, ideal for summer seasons holiday spenders.
The small township is spread across 10 square kilometers and house only families that are directly or indirectly associated with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. The entire township is well planned and is a neat place. Plenty of green spots, a whole lot of evergreen trees everywhere and excellent drainage systems. Take a road in any direction and within minutes you will be at the foothills of the eastern ghats. Plenty of picnic spots.

By train, there are many ways to reach Sunabeda. One of them is to get down at Koraput railway station, which is the major railhead in an area of about 200 square kilometres. As of 2013, there are 3 platforms at the station, with 12 trains halting at it. The trains here are Sambalpur-Koraput Pass. (Up-down), Durg-Jagdalpur Tri-Weekly, Howrah-Koraput-Jagdalpur, Rourkela-Koraput, Bhubaneswar-Koraput-Jagdalpur Hirakhand Exp., Visakhapatnam-Kirandul Pass., and Visakhapatnam-Rayagada-Koraput Pass/Exp. From Koraput, there are Frequent buses and taxis to Sunabeda. Other option is through Damanjodi. However it is a small station. Most people prefer to get down at Vizianagaram, Bobbili or Visakhapatnam and from there get a Bus or Taxi within 2 to 6 hours.
