Vanderkloof is a town and holiday resort on the shores of the Vanderkloof Dam on the Orange River in the Karoo region of Northern Cape province in South Africa.
From the N1 at Bloemfontein, turn off to Petrusburg. From there follow the R48 to Koffiefontein, Luckhoff and the on to Vanderkloof dam. Follow the boards.

Vanderkloof is small and therefore easily walkable. The road leading up to Vanderkloof is pretty steep.
The dam wall can be visited, Eskom hydro electric plant can be visited. There are wonderful sites from which to view the lake. There are great places from which to take photos.Bird watching, hiking and game drives in the Rolfontein game reserve. Bowling, cycling, skiing, rock climbing, abseiling and bridge swinging can all be done here. The dam stretches 100 km up stream so boating, kayaking, angling and camping on the shores of the lake are a perfect way to spend out gorgeous days and nights.
