Yurimaguas is a port in the Peruvian Amazon, with river traffic arriving from Iquitos. The town itself is often just a transfer en route to Tarapoto
There are boats downstream past Lagunas and the Pacaya-Samiria National Park and on to Iquitos, Peru. Eduardo boats are the most frequent & recommended.
There are road & river connections to Tarapoto, & buses from there to the Pacific coast.
There are a few hostals in the main town (around the Plaza da Armas). However, most boats allow you to stay overnight before the start of the journey, and for no extra charge.
