Alipurduar does not have an airport. The nearest airport with commercial flights is Rupsi Airport (IATA: RUP) in Lower Assam. A national park in Buxa and Jayanti hills of North Bengal, Buxa Tiger Reserve is a habitat for tigers, Asian elephants and other mammals plus a variety of birds, amphibians and reptiles. There's a fort at an altitude of on the Sinchula Range guarding the most important of the eleven routes into Bhutan.
