Jepara-Rembang (Dutch: Residentie Djepara-Rembang) is a region of Central Java in Indonesia.
This area is also known as Muria Raya (Great Muria) because it is located around Mount Muria. Most of civilian speak Javanese and understand Indonesian.
You may use an intercity bus to go to the each city in this area from Indonesia's capital Jakarta. One of the busiest bus stations in the Jepara-Rembang area is Jati Bus Terminal in Kudus.
Cities are connected by good condition Great Post Road except Jepara and Blora with fine provincial road.

Soupy meaty food is common in this area such as nasi gandul (rice with beef soup) in Pati, pindang serani (milkfish soup) in Jepara, and soto Kudus (water buffalo meat soup) in Kudus. In addition, there are special satay like sate srepeh (satay with red sauce, rice and tofu) in Rembang and sate Blora (satay served with coconut milk soup) in Blora.
As an area with a Muslim majority, it is very difficult to find alcohol drinks in the area. Sweet iced tea and fresh coconut drink is common drinks. Try special coffee drinks such as kopi santen (coffee with coconut milk) in Blora and kopi kothok (coffee powder boiled with sugar or milk) in Cepu.
