Lubin is a city in Dolnośląskie Voivodeship in Poland.
Lubin has a population of about 75,000. It is better known as a functional modern city than as a tourist destination. You can finds bits of history peeking out from between soviet era monstrosities and post soviet glitz, but they are few and hard to find. Although it does not draw a lot of tourists, those who live in the more rural parts of the surrounding area appreciate it as a place to find goods and services sometimes hard to come by in the smaller towns.
Lubin Airport is a general aviation airport. It handles charter and private planes, but no scheduled airlines.
PKP] nb The nearest operating station is Rudna Miasto, about 14 km North on route 292. In 2008 planning was begun by the city and the rail company InterRegioRail to implement a rail line between Lubin, Legnica, Głogów, and Polkowice. As of 2013 no progress has been reported.
Road number 3 (planned as Expressway S3) Szczecin - Szklarska Poręba goes through Lubin, also several less important ones: 36, 323, 335.
