While Tulcea has its own airport, flights are limited to general aviation and a few seasonal charter routes. The nearest major international airport is in the capital Bucharest.

By bus

The city is an approximately two-hour minibus ride away from Constanta bus station.

By train

Train services are rather slow, there's several daily trains from Medgidia, taking three hours. At Medgidia it's possible to connect with Intercity trains from Constanta and Bucharest.
