Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon National Park (雅魯藏布大峽谷 Yǎlǔzàngbù Dàxiágǔ) in Tibet contains the world's largest canyon, 496.3 km long and up to 5382 meters deep.
The Yarlung Tsangpo river runs for 2,000 km across Tibet, then flows into India where it is known as the Bramhaputra.
The national park is centered on the largest canyon on Earth, several hundred km long. There are mountains alongside the canyon, including 17 over 6,000 m (17,500 ft).
The area has a unique climate and is not heavily inhabited by humans. There is a great deal of wildlife, some of it unique to the region.
The nearest major city is Bayi, the capital of Nyingchi, which can be reached by train from Lhasa. There are quite a few commercial tours to the region, generally lasting about a week.
